One thing to remember about industrial metal detectors is that they don't all detect the same size metal and often not the same size ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Goring Kerr (http://www.goring-kerr.com) is one of the leaders in metal detection. Or was, they were bought out and now are under Thermo.
